Maria of My Soul by Julie Fraser, first premiered at Oran Mor as part of A Play A Pie and A Pint is going on tour around Glasgow. It's an unusual tour which includes venues like Mair Street Sheltered Housing in Kinning Park, Caledonian University School of Health, Springburn Alive and Kicking Project, Red Road, and Shanti Bhavan Centre, St. George's Cross. The play is directed again by John Binnie and the cast is Dave Anderson, Ann Scott-Jones and Gordon Brandie. It is a tender and evocative play with live music about an elderly woman in a care home remembering back to one night in Glasgow's famed Plaza ballroom. Joyce MacMillan writing in the Scotsman commented " Irresistable to anyone who cares about our society's tendency to ignore and patronise the old."
