Congratulations to Mo Scott who has been chosen as the winner of this weeks Critic Circle competition.

Loving Lope in the round ….

No high faluting review from me, I either get completely drawn in by a performance, or not, it’s that simple . This production was fresh, funny and emotional, with convincing anger and defiance in every flamenco stomp. A well matched cast that took multi tasking to a whole new level ! Laurencias spirited and shaming slagging off of the ‘all talk and nae action’ menfolk had me almost yelling ‘right on sister, intae them ‘ The big themes and schemes I’ll leave for those who need to unravel the jumper to see how it’s knitted. For me I was there in Fuenteovejuna ( easier to write than say)rooting for the ‘wee guy’ and praying that justice would prevail. In the end honour was restored, the baddie got malkied and the nice guy got his girl. See,told you.. it is that simple. ps More productions in the round please, love the vibes !
