David Hayman – Oran Mor, 14, 17 & 27 March 2011 at 7.30pm
Monday 14 March will see David Hayman reprising the hugely powerful one-man play “Six and a Tanner”, after a four year absence from the stage.
After four performances of the play the previous week in Barlinnie prison, these will be the debut performances with David taking the play across Scotland over the next nine months.
Written by Rony Bridges the play sees a middle-aged man relive the joys and tragedies of his 1950s childhood as he rages at the coffin of his dead father.
Is it an act of revenge, or redemption? Or simply the moment in a man’s life when he faces his own mortality?
Based on a true story, this is a powerful, moving and hilarious tribute to life in all its absurdity.
David says, “ I’m thrilled to be back in Scotland working in great spaces like Oran Mor and would like to thank all the team there for giving us the opportunity to bring “Six and a Tanner” back to life. We previously performed it as part of the “A Play, A Pie and a Pint” series and it was a huge success then.”
