Fi and and her daughter Lu have never seen eye to eye but Lu’s ovaries are Fi’s last remaining hope of a grandchild.
When avowedly single Lu presents some ‘interesting’ choices of sperm donor, Fi knows she should probably keep her mouth shut. She has always been open- minded and definitely not racist…but is it too much to ask for in this day to have a grandchild that vaguely resembles you.
When a DNA test reveals some surprising results, Fi needs a new game plan.

UMA NADA-RAJAH is a playwright and nurse based in Kilbarchan, Scotland. She was a member of the Young Writers' Program at the Traverse Theatre and a recipient of a New Playwrights' Award from Playwrights' Studio Scotland. Uma was recently the Starter Female Political Comedy Writer-in-Residence at the National Theatre of Scotland. Her most recent play, Exodus, was produced by NTS and premiered at the Traverse Theatre during the Festival 2022. She is currently under commission to the Almeida Theatre.
JEMIMA LEVICK has been Artistic Director of A Play, a Pie and a Pint since April 2021. Between 2016-21 she was Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Stellar Quines Theatre Company, and prior to that, she was Associate and latterly Artistic Director of Dundee Rep. She has won and been nominated for a number of awards and has directed more than 40 professional productions. Her recent credits include Cinderella (Dundee Rep); Maggie May (Leeds Playhouse, Leicester Curve & Queens Theatre, Hornchurch); Sally, Man’s Best Friend, Joke (A Play, A Pie and A Pint); and episodes of River City for BBC Studios. She has also directed for National Theatre of Scotland, The Royal Lyceum Theatre, Dundee Rep, Stellar Quines, Borderline, Grid Iron, The Traverse Theatre and Paines Plough.
