Open Casting Workshop – Callout
In collaboration with the Actor’s Gym Glasgow, we will be hosting an open casting workshop on Thursday 17 July 2025 that allows actors to practise their craft, network with fellow artists and industry professionals, and showcase their skills to A Play, A Pie and A Pint (PPP) to be considered for future productions. From last year’s workshop, we have since employed several actors in our Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025 seasons.
Co-produced by our Casting & Creative Associate, Jake Curran-Pipe, and founder of the Actor’s Gym Glasgow, Amelia Isaac Jones, we will run 3 sessions throughout the day.
The sessions will be led and facilitated by Louise Haggerty, and will be attended by PPP staff, Scotland’s theatre professionals, and freelance directors who are working with PPP over the coming seasons.
We are particularly keen to hear from performers:
- That graduated from drama training in the year 2023 and 2024.
- That haven’t worked with us before or haven’t worked for PPP in the past 3 years.
- That identify as a person of the Global Majority*
- That identity as d/Deaf
- That identify as disabled
- That identify as working class
- That identify as LGBTQIA+
*Including those from the African and Caribbean diaspora, the East Asian diaspora, the Southeast Asian diaspora, the South Asian diaspora, the West Asian diaspora (including Middle East), Pacific Islander, biracial and mixed heritage, Latine, and those who identity as a Person of Colour or Black, we may use Global Majority to refer to people from these identities.
To be considered for the workshop, please follow this link and complete this Google Form before 12pm (noon) on Wednesday 2 July 2025. You will be contacted by the team by 6pm on Friday 4 July 2025 to confirm if you have been selected. Applications will be considered by the PPP team prioritising the groups listed above.
We anticipate a high volume of applicants and unfortunately won’t be able to offer feedback on application or to see everyone, but plan to hold further auditions later in the year.
