In the sixties, stars didn’t come bigger than singer Frankie Vaughan. Number one hits, movies with Marilyn Monroe, Vaughan was a star at the very height of his power when he came to Glasgow, a visit which would change the face of one of the city’s most deprived areas forever. Vaughan mediated between police and gang leaders to bring about a knife amnesty that set into motion a process of change for the beleaguered housing estate. Mr Moonlight is how Frankie’s life-long affinity for Glasgow and its people might have come about.
Kim Millar is an established scriptwriter and storyliner who has worked on Coronation Street, Casualty, Waterloo Road, River City, Hollyoaks and Dumping Ground. This is her third play for Òran Mór.
